The International Rugby Board (IRB) was founded in 1886, with it's headquarters being in Dublin, Ireland, it is the governing body for the game of Rugby union
The game of Rugby is now played in more than 100 countries and
IRB membership currently encompasses 92 national Unions and one Regional
Association, the Paris-based Federation
Inter-Europeenne de Rugby Association
(FIRA-AER).
The historical membership has expanded enormously in recent times and encompasses all regions, races and people of the world with the latest member, Malta been accepted at the Annual Meeting of the IRB Council in Dublin.
