Nick Mallett:)

Nicholas Mallett was born in Haileybury, Hertfordshire on the 30th October 1956. At school he excelled in both sport and academic fields.
He continued his sport success at the University of Cape Town (UCT) where he qualified for a Bachelor of Arts majoring in English and history (1975 - 77) followed by a Higher Diploma of Education (1978).
He used to play for the Western Province as well as coaching and playing for France and Italy where he earned a reputation for a dogged approach to the game.
He played regularly for Western Province between 1977 and 1985, winning the Currie Cup in 1982-1985. He soon won 2 caps for South Africa in October 1984.
When his playing days were over, he turned to coaching the South African team. He brought in new ideas which resulted in 17 consecutive wins for the Boks. His overall record of wins is 27 out of 38
